Mad Swirl Open Mic featuring Jason Carney

Mad Swirl was the place to be in this poetic community this past 1st Wednesday! Our feature this month, Jason Carney, one Dallas' baddest, maddest and slammingest voices ever, had us memorized with his poetry and prose. Swirve swirled their musical musings thru the rhythmical timings of Jason's words. The Lounge was filled with ears wide opened to absorb and appreciate the wonderful show that we were given. We got one word... "word". OK, two words, "kick ass" If you missed it... well, sadly, you missed it. And we didn't even mention our open mic madness...

It wouldn't be Mad Swirl if we didn't kick things off Swive'n. With Chris Curiel's magical trumpet swaa-swaa-swirling in our heads and Gerard Bendiks mad be-bops keeping the beat on skins. It was a treat and a most spectacular feat to behold!

Then your hosts Johnny O and guest co-host Chris Zimmerly got to callin' all the mad poets & a few other miscellaneous mad ones in the Lounge to come & strut their mad stuff! We had long-time-no-see faces mixed with never-before-seen faces mingled with the usual mad suspects you expect to see on our 1st Wednesday mad romp. And romp it they did! Mad Swirlin' thanks to ALL the mad ones that came to participate, to appreciate...
